[edit]RS.ro said that he/she did not consider Gyr a fascist because he built the Jewish theater. People should be reminded that Fascism is not necessarily Anti-Semitic (Mussolini, for one, never was). Gyr's simple and volontary association with the Iron Guard would include him in this category, as good or bad as that may be. He acted as official for the absolute form of Fascism Romania had (no matter how ambiguous his actions might have been). RS also claimed that I would've said (in a message on his/her page, one which he has by now erased) that there was no difference between Nazism and the Iron Guard (or Italian Fascism, or Peronism, or whatever). In fact, I had said the exact opposite. BUT: if we were to use these differences consistently, there would be no Fascism. At all. (Note: I also think that Gyr's philo-Semitic actions, if that is indeed what they were, are in marked contrast with the genocide carried out by the government he was part of.) I had left a disclaimer on the "Romanian fascists" category page, for the exact purpose of nuances being kept in mind. Hopefully, the controversy stops here. Dahn 23:31, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit]- "Italian Fascism and Nazism can be argued to "not be the same". Spare me, I know the whole controversy. They are ase close as any two movements. The debate has taken place a while back. They are the same, for all purposes of this encyclopaedia." Dahn, please calm down and read again what you have posted on my discussion page. I just don’t understand why all this fuss about a simple discussion… If anyone is interested, here is the message that I received from Dahn and here is my reply.--R.S.ro 23:49, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
