Superior what?

I moved the following test to here, because it needs to state what kind of test was superior, a RAST variant or other test? Mikael Häggström (talk) 11:00, 12 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The RAST was introduced in the 1970s and replaced by a superior test in 1989.

confusing/contradictory indications

The indications section is at best confusing and probably contradictory. In the second sentence, "...[RAST] has very high specificity as it binds to allergen specific IgE, and extremely sensitive too, when compared with skin prick testing." Yet in the next paragraph, "...allergy skin testing is the preferred method in comparison with various in vitro tests for assessing the presence of specific IgE antibodies because it is more sensitive and specific...."
