Significant role
[edit]Radio Muhabura played a significant role in the Rwandan Civil War of 1990 to 1994 and lead-up to the genocide in that country. It has been discussed by a conference that included the head of UN forces in Rwanda (rome Dallaire), and has been cited as a factor in the international trial of war criminals in Rwanda (Ferdinand Nahimana).
It is an example of a propaganda radio station used in wartime used to support an invading army and to help conduct a civil war. It also an example of the workings of a sitting government (the RPF in Rwanda).
