"Successful" stock trader; reliable source issues
[edit]I've reworded the remarks about Fox on Stocks, to make it clear that her success as a stock trader is not yet verifiable by reference to a reliable source.
I wish to make three points. First, what is verifiable is not that she is a successful stock trader, only that this website describes her that way. Second, I don't think we actually know to what extent the blog is her own work--it is interesting that the contact information refers us to a media firm. And, third, of course a blog isn't a reliable source for anything other than its own content. Dpbsmith (talk) 23:50, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
Purported death
[edit]For the past six or so hours, numerous IP editors and one newly-registered editor have been editing this article to add Fox's death, none citing sources of any kind.
I've been deleting them, and the page is now semi-protected to prevent them from being re-added. There are no reliable sources reporting the death. In the the past hour, there are a number of non-RSs making the claim, such as celebritiesdeaths.com and belarus.tenzica.com (purportedly a Belarus outlet; why someone in Belarus would have a scoop on this is a mystery to me).
Some of the reports identifies the individual as "Rachel Fox" (without the middle initial "G") or as "Rachel Heather Fox"; and as a 47-year-old. IMDB (I know, itself not a RS) reports Fox's DOB as July 23, 1996, which would make her 24 years old today; regardless of IMDB's veracity, Fox was clearly not thirty-two years old during her appearances on Desperate Housewives. So even if published reports are true, it could be a completely different person of the same name. Nothing in the reports appears to connect the decedent with an acting career, and the "connection" appears to be nothing more than similarity of non-identical names.
Please, let's not be in a rush to add information that might be wrong. Wikipedia is not a news organization and there's no need to "scoop" the actual news sources on which we rely. If Fox has actually died, we can add that information once it's reliably reported. TJRC (talk) 22:59, 14 July 2021 (UTC)

Rachel Fox was killed in a car accident today. 68.0.97.140 (talk) 02:35, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
- Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made.
- Please read the above message about the purported death. The only source I found on a Rachel Fox dying in a car accident is this one, and that Rachel Fox was 40+ years old. Rachel G. Fox is 24 years old. Also, this source shows she is alive: deadorkicking.com/rachel-g-fox-dead-or-alive. ––FORMALDUDE(talk) 03:08, 15 July 2021 (UTC)
