Requested move
[edit]Rabi Island → Rabi (island) — The name of the Fijian island is "Rabi", not "Rabi Island". This usage is supported by the external links, and the foreign language Wikipedias. --84.92.117.93 (talk) 23:00, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
- Comment. It definitely is referred to as "Rabi Island". The island's name in Fijian or any other foreign language is immaterial. Whichever is most common in English, however, I do not know. — The Man in Question (in question) 20:49, 19 December 2009 (UTC)
Indigenous Landowners
[edit]"Rabi is home to the Banabans who are the indigenous landowners of Ocean Island".
Few corrections to be made here regarding the Indigenous landowners and the correct spelling and name of the Island.
The indigenous land owners of the Island still leave in Taveuni in the village of Lovonivonu and like the Banabans are also immigrants. Till today, we still go to the Island Of Rabe( pronounced Rambi- Rabi by the British ) without seeking permission from the Rabi( Banabans) Council for timbers or to go fishing within the fishing boundaries of Rabe.
