Quick fail based on these issues:
- Grammar and language. The article needs to be copy edited and better organized. See my edit here for the type of copy editing work necessary for the rest of the article.[1]
- Organization of the article is poor, and there is insufficient breadth of coverage of the topic. Minor issue is that the lead does not properly summarize the body of the article, per MOS:LEAD.
- Sources are almost all (except for one NYT article) online wiki-type sources. These may be self-published, and may not be reliable sources.
- The subject is treated in a non-neutral way by the authors. Heroically positive statements are made without proper sourcing, e.g. "R [is] the de-facto standard language for statistical analysis".
