RPS Group Plc provides advice upon the development of land, property and infrastructure; the management of environment; the exploration and production of oil and gas, and other natural resources, and the health and safety of people. The planning and development segment includes consultancy services in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Australia related to town and country planning, transport planning and highway design, environmental impact assessment (EIA), and provision of water and waste utilities and energy infrastructure. The environmental management segment includes consultancy services related to environmental science, the management of water resources and health, safety and risk management other than the oil and gas sector. The energy segment includes consultancy services, including health, safety and risk management to the upstream oil and gas and offshore renewable energy sectors. In August 2010, it acquired Boyd Exploration Consultants Ltd, an oil and gas and mining consultancy.

RPS Group's portfolio includes planning and development, energy (through RPS Energy), and environmental management. It has operations in Australia, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, and the UK, as well as in North America, South America, the Middle East and Southeast Asia . Most recently RPS has established a new office in Abu Dhabi . RPS Energy, the energy division of RPS, is working closely with its sister division, RPS Planning & Development, which already has an Abu Dhabi- based team working on new infrastructure projects, including the Almarkaz project, which combines local expertise and knowledge with a range of skills developed internationally over many years.

RPS Group plc Announces Acquisition of Boyd Exploration Consultants Ltd Wednesday, 1 Sep 2010 RPS Group plc announced the acquisition of Boyd Exploration Consultants Ltd (Boyd), an oil and gas and mining consultancy, for a maximum consideration of CAD13.9 million (GBP8.5 million). RPS is acquiring the entire share capital of Boyd for a maximum total consideration of CAD13.87 million (GBP8.46 million), all payable in cash. Consideration paid at completion was CAD7.30 million (GBP4.46 million). Subject to certain operational conditions being met, three further sums of CAD2.37 million (GBP1.44 million); CAD2.39 million (GBP1.46 million) and CAD1.81 million (GBP1.10 million) will be paid on the first three anniversaries of the transaction. The nine vendors of the business include six Directors and staff of Boyd, all of whom are remaining with RPS.

RPS Group plc Announces Acquisition of Aquaterra Consulting Pty Ltd Friday, 28 May 2010 RPS Group plc announced the acquisition of Aquaterra Consulting Pty Ltd (Aquaterra), an international water resource and environmental consultancy, for a maximum consideration of AUD13.5 million (GBP7.8 million). RPS is acquiring the entire share capital of Aquaterra for a maximum total consideration of AUD$13.7 million (GBP7.9 million), all payable in cash. Consideration paid at completion was AUD7.0 million (GBP4.1 million). Subject to certain operational conditions being met, two further sums of AUD3.5 million (GBP2.0 million) and AUD3.2 million (GBP1.8 million) will be paid on the first and second anniversaries of the transaction. The vendors of the business are its two executive directors and 20 other staff, all of whom are remaining with RPS.

RPS Group plc Announces Dividend; Completion of Acquisition of Conics Ltd Thursday, 30 Jul 2009 RPS Group plc announced that the Board has increased the interim dividend by 15% to 2.01 pence per share (2008: 1.75 pence) payable on October 22, 2009, to shareholders on the register on September 25, 2009. The Company also announced that on July 1, the Company had entered into an agreement to acquire the entire share capital of Conics Ltd. That transaction has now completed on the terms set out in that announcement.

Sorry but most of this looks more like a Corporate website than a wikipedia article. Most of it seems to be drawn from announcements issued by the company or from material issued by the company and broadcast on Reuters so it would not meet the requirement of WP:SOURCES. "RPS"

I believe it stands for Rural Planning Services. I note that you have removed the mention of Michael Boddington: despite several requests, he has consistently failed to reference (from any independent source) his claim to having been a founder of the business. Thanks for explaining RPS. That source you cited may not be objective as Boddington probably furnished his work history to the organization he works for, himself, while the other source describes the company as being set up by a group, not one man, and in 1970, not 1972. — O'Dea (talk) 15:07, 7 May 2012 (UTC)

Conflict of interest

I have put a conflict of interest tag on the RPS Group article. I noted yesterday that some text that had been inserted in this article yesterday was extremely similar to some text set out on the history section of the company's water website. I may well be completely mistaken but it now appears that the relevant section of the company website has now been taken down so removing evidence of copyright breach. It seems to me therefore that there has been some interference by a company employee here. This would be in breach of WP:COI and WP:ADVERT. Hello, Sorry I didn't realize the COI process - I am connected to the subject and didn't realize I should have proposed a draft version to be approved, as I can see now was previously done but don't think I have added anything biased? I have removed the tag. Please note that material for wikipedia should come from independent sources (see WP:CITE and WP:RS) rather than from the company's website or annual reports. In my view the table of acquisitions does not meet the requirements because it has not been independently sourced. Also because it does not give the values, it is impossible to pick out (say) the five largest ones and source some details independently. Thanks. Dormskirk (talk) 09:38, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
