First look-down/shoot-down radar, or was that Zaslon?

[edit]

The article on the Zaslon radar claims that Zaslon was the Soviet Union's first "look-down/shoot-down" radar. Yet according to this article, look-down/shoot-down capability was implemented in the Sapfir-23D. There is no year for this indicated here, but the article on the Mig-23 states that Sapfir-23D systems were upgraded to Sapfir-23D-III in 1975. Seeing how the Zaslon radar was developed between 1975 and 1980, that would suggest the latter was not the first look-down/shoot-down radar in Soviet service. Rather, that this appellation belongs to the Sapfir radar.

I have no idea where to begin to clear this up. But it seems to be a relevant item. DerGolgoAgain (talk) 21:57, 14 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
