Explaining myself

[edit]

Hey, I want to explain this edit because I removed a lot of material. I thought the "Origins" section was redundant to the "Emergence" section, and not as good, so I cut it. In the "Appeal..." section, I get that all the material before the last paragraph is meant to provide a context, but it's too long, is a little off-topic, and can best be summed up by the first clause in the last paragraph: "Because education was spare and literacy uncommon...". Ultimately, I cut the last paragraph, too, because it was also redundant to the "Emergence" section. I am going to go ahead and copy edit the remaining material, try to add some sources, and do some formatting tweaks. Braincricket (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Additional information

ROSTA posters often were displayed in windows of shops, hence the term ROSTA window. Their pictorial style is attributed to the use of stencils, which were faster and cheaper than printing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:ED:274C:3642:5C2B:D427:9583:74B6 (talk) 07:11, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
