Incorrect name/cable system

[edit]

This cable is not called RIOJA-1, but the UK-Spain. The RIOJA is a cable system linking Spain - UK- Belgium - The Netherlands. The terminal station in The Netherlands is Katwijk.

The former RIOJA General Committee co-ordinator

The cable is called RIOJA-1, just as there is also a RIOJA-2 and RIOJA-3. It may have originated as being called the "UK-Spain" when it was the only one built, however, upon building a second and third, the names "RIOJA-1", "RIOJA-2", and "RIOJA-3" were designated. I am attaching an old but still good reference to all three cable articles. Rarelibra 18:23, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You could well be right, unfortunately, Wikipedia needs a citeable source - doesn't have to be on the web, but does need to be independently verifiable. The free charts available from the "Kingfisher Information Service - Cable Awareness" here [1] show RIOJA-1 landing in Porthcurno, with a BT phone number. If you can help clear up the confusion, that would be great. Finding reliable data is not easy. WLD 09:42, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The charts come from official sources. Those official sources call it "RIOJA". Therefore, unless further evidence is supplied, it stays that way. Rarelibra 18:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
