Page move needed
[edit]This page needs to be moved to match its English title, per lead. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 23:17, 23 January 2022 (UTC)
Requested move 15 March 2022
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: Not moved as proposed. There exists consensus that the article subject is not the primary RBC Group. This close does not preclude a RM for a different article title since there exists no consensus that RBK Group is an appropriate article title. RBK Group → RBC Group – The correct transliteration of the corporation's name is RBC, not RBK which is the Cyrillic form. The English website of the company itself calls it RBC Group [1]. - Oppose Too easily confused with Royal Bank of Canada and its RBC use in international operations. Perhaps something like RBC Media Group would work. G. Timothy Walton (talk) 04:27, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
- Support - RBC Group has been uncontroversially redirecting to RBK Group for years (for years without even a hatnote disambiguating it with the Royal Bank - I've added one). Since RBC Group is the more accurate/common name for the company, it's reasonable to move the page rather than using a less common name (inaccurate RBK or less precise RBC Media Group). -M.nelson (talk) 13:25, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose - seems to be an informal title, and doesn't sufficiently disambiguate from the Canadian company also known informally as RBC Group (more formally RBC Financial Group). Since neither is primary, neither should live at that title. Since the Canadian company lives at Royal Bank of Canada despite using the initialism exclusively (and not just internationally, their retail bank is branded RBC Royal Bank in Canada) for several years, this article could just as well live at RosBusinessConsulting. - Support moving to RBC Group (Russia). This allows the title to both satisfy WP:UE and disambiguate itself from the Canadian bank. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (投稿) 00:33, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
- Relister comment Relisting to explore other options than just "RBK Group" vs. "RBC Group". Consensus seems to be that neither "RBK Group" nor "RBC Group" by themselves are suitable names; the former has trouble with WP:USEENGLISH and the latter is not precise enough. — Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! Naming
[edit]Then why not just use the full name given as the alternative in the lede, RosBiznesConsulting, something which has been done on many other article pages? PorkyPowerPeanut (talk) 00:15, 23 April 2023 (UTC)
