First use of the airfield
[edit]The main article states that the first aircraft ( two DC-3's! ) landed 4 July 1947. In Len Beadell's book Still in the Bush (hardcover) page 101, he says the first landing was 19 June 1947, by a Dakota. There is an anomaly with the quoted dates. As he was the surveyor of the centreline of the airfield, the date surely came from his diary. Can anyone provide more accurate information?--Summerdrought (talk) 07:22, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Charliebarsby has confirmed by reference to the diary of Len Beadell that the first landing at Woomera was on Thursday 19 June 1947.Summerdrought (talk) 22:25, 25 May 2013 (UTC)
