Clemens Palme Dutt - Rajani Palme Dutt's brother and political cohort

[edit]

At present there is no mention of Clemens Palme Dutt - Rajani Palme Dutt's brother and political cohort. There is also no Wikipedia page for Clemens Palme Dutt, who like Rajani, was a prominent member of the Communist Party of Great Britain, although he kept to a more discreet role than Rajani, as evidenced by the MI5 files on both Rajani and Clemens. Would someone be good enough to set up the appropriate page for Clemens Palme Dutt please. Jonathan Rackowe, grandson of Clemens Palme Dutt. 5.228.81.130 (talk) 14:13, 30 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dutt as Stalinist

[edit]

"After Stalin's death Dutt remained a loyal Stalinist". Apparently he supported Khrushchev's denunciation though attempting to downplay it with his "spots on the sun" speech. So this is a bit misleading. The telescoping of history (where 1956 slides into 1968) is characteristic of much historiography about Communism and is also misleading. Could do with more detail.--Jack Upland 04:27, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lengthy citation of anonymous praise

[edit]

The item currently includes a lengthy excerpt from a review of Dutt's book "Fascism and Social Revolution", lavishly praising "Dutt's genius". Somebody already added a "who?" tag to this quote, and some Googling reveals that it's, in fact, from an anonymous user review on Amazon.com by "A Customer". This does not strike me as a worthy source for an encyclopedic item, and I propose the quote is taken out. No-itsme (talk) 16:57, 11 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since nobody's objected/responded, I will take it out now. No-itsme (talk) 02:33, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Misattribution of Clemens' works to Rajani

[edit]

The critiques of Hyman Levy, 'The Philosophy of a Natural Scientist' and 'The Philosophy of a Natural Scientist - Rejoinder' were actually written by Clemens, rather than Rajani, Palme Dutt. Levy's reply, accessible here - https://www.marxists.org/history/international/comintern/sections/britain/periodicals/labour_monthly/1938/05/natural_scientist_reply.htm confirms that it is addressed to Clemens, rather than Rajani.

- I'll edit it accordingly to remove these. 81.101.15.21 (talk) 23:08, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
