If there has been a tag asking for sources for three years, and none have appeared, why does this article exist? It could be a hoax page. Doesn't this automatically qualify for deletion?Closedthursday (talk) 20:08, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is no time limit on article development (see WP:NOTIMELIMIT for the policy supporting that assertion). Some articles get more attention than others. However, a quick search of Google yields mentions in the Encyclopedia Britannica, and coins stamped in his name. There is also a book about him and his father. I'm not a historian, but I feel safe in declaring this not a hoax. I've added the two of the sources to the article, and am now deprodding, because the complete lack of sources and possible hoax criticisms have been addressed. Notability is still an issue, but I suspect there are non-web sources that could be brought to bear on the topic. --Mark viking (talk) 21:29, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
There is indeed no fixed timeframe for sourcing an article, plus before Closedthursday even posted this "talk" or deletion request, I had already added a source reference to the work of Cassius Dio who handles Labienus' Parthian years. So it IS sourced. I thus object to its deletion -- fdewaele, 6 februari 2013.
