Species
[edit]I believe this occurs in several types of maple and several other species of wood. http://hobbithouseinc.com/personal/woodpics/_figureandgrainterms.htm#quilted
However, I am not an expert, and there seems to be wide variation in how basic words like curl, wavy, grain, quilting, etc. are defined from source to source. Curl/wavy and figure/grain seem to be swapped from source to source, leading to confusion. --Skintigh (talk) 18:43, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
