Move back!
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was move. JPG-GR (talk) 18:12, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
I urge the regulars here to get this moved (back?) to "Queenstown Airport". It may be international, all fine, but the official name has no "international" in it. See their own website, see official websites. Ingolfson (talk) 08:38, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- Your observation seems to be on target. While lots of companies situated close to or afiliated with the airport seem to use the term "Queenstown International Airport" the airport itself only uses the title "Queenstown Airport". --Gereon K. (talk) 10:17, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
- So, if we hear no objections in the next few days, I suggest we go ahead and rename the article to Queenstown Airport (New Zealand) to disambiguate it from Queenstown Airport (South Africa), see: Queenstown Airport. -Canglesea (talk) 03:20, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- The current article should be moved to Queenstown Airport with the current disambig page at that namespace to be moved to Queenstown Airport (disambiguation). As per WP:DISAMBIG, Queenstown Airport should be the New Zealand airport article, as that is what the majority of people would be expecting to reach when they search for Queenstown Airport and hit go in the search box. --Россавиа Диалог 06:12, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
- For the record, this article, disambig page, and links will be moved/renamed today as specified by Россавиа. Thanks -Canglesea (talk) 19:38, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- There is a discussion about this at Incomplete and Contested Moves. -Canglesea (talk) 18:11, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
- Not anymore. It was moved to here. 199.125.109.19 (talk) 02:02, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Moved from WP:RM - 199.125.109.19 (talk) 02:09, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Or move Queenstown International Airport to Queenstown Airport (New Zealand) and Queenstown Airport (disambiguation) to Queenstown Airport? Anthony Appleyard (talk) 23:14, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- I Agree with the move request: Queenstown International Airport → Queenstown Airport, it is preferable to my initial suggestion: Queenstown International Airport → Queenstown Airport (New Zealand). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Canglesea (talk • contribs) 21:41, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

More Tech Info Needed
[edit]This article needs more info regarding flight ops. Input from an airline pilot who regularly lands there would be good, rather than the usual guff from self-appointed experts.
- Appears the runway is oneway for jets; land 05, TO 23. What is a safe DH? What is a safe DH for single engine?
- T&G safe for light a/c only?
- Curved approach rules out ILS, day or night. Future DGPS based ILS may be possible.
- I'd say this airport is right at the bottom of Qantas' acceptable safety standards. They will never land there at night.203.213.61.1 (talk) 04:08, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
