Merge

[edit]

This page was merged to List of Marvel Comics characters: Q by User:Fandraltastic, and was then reversed by User:Rtkat3 because no reason was given. I suspect the reason was the lack of real-world information in the article, which was all relocated in the move. I support re-merging, but I thought there should be a chance for discussion before doing so. Argento Surfer (talk) 14:20, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I left my reasons on the View History of the main page because the move was not explained by Fandraltastic (who had started moving some of the minor Marvel Comics characters to the different List of Marvel Comics characters page). Rtkat3 (talk) 11:10, December 4 2012 (UTC)
Most of the characters that Fandraltastic and Argento Surfer have been merging to the list are pretty minor characters. I don't know that Quasimodo is all that major of a character either, but I'd say he's more significant than the vast majority of those who have been merged so far. 129.33.19.254 (talk) 16:16, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The explanation for the move is that the article fails Wikipedia's notability guidelines. There's no real-world content here, and no real opportunity for such content to be added. I preserved the majority of the content in the merge (the issue-to-issue type trivia was dropped) -Fandraltastic (talk) 16:39, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Of course Quasimodo did play a major part in the Dark Reign Files one-shot where he gathered the information of every supervillain and gave it to Norman Osborn. He even appeared in the comic book spin-off of The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes alongside Mad Thinker (whose complete list of robot creations hasn't been known yet) and Awesome Android. Which can be covered in a sentence or two, and again doesn't provide the character with the kind of real-world notability it should have to warrant a stand-alone article. -Fandraltastic (talk) 21:21, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
After the sentences about what he is, who created him (writer and artist, not Thinker), and his first appearance, all the other real-world info could be included as
Within the context of the stories, Quasimodo is an enemy of the Fantastic Four,[1][2] Silver Surfer,[3] Captain Marvel,[4] Rom,[5] and the Avengers.[6][7] He has also been an ally of Norman Osborn.[8] The character also appeared in the comic book 'The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
That leaves out his powers and abilities, but that's all unsourced stuff anyway. Argento Surfer (talk) 21:47, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
So safe to say it can be merged back in, yes? I'm going to go ahead and do it. -Fandraltastic (talk) 14:44, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
