• Support. Use of these characters is commonplace. The current could be read as 1st of April mile. Ambiguous formats should be avoided. • Quarter mile per WP:COMMONNAME. It's not only the most common usage in mainstream publications like the New York Times or CNN, but also in enthusiast media like Cycle World or Road & Track. Displaying the fraction is not unheard of but it's the exception. Yes, ¼ mile is an improvement over 1/4 mile, but we can do even better. --Dennis Bratland (talk) 00:43, 19 January 2021 (UTC)
