Software companies are writing and marketing software for Stock Market and Futures trading based on Quantum Game Theory, and wiki has nothing on it.

So what is the process for attribution of significance? Almost one of the ~60 published papers I have ever read site Meyer's work. The presentation to Microsoft Research, and then the paper are the earliest sources I ever found. The handful that I have read that doen't site the work simply site "Meyers Penny", or refer to the Star Trek episode bases on his paper. The original version of this paper is dated Feb 2008. I sited the later version which as near as I can tell only has cleaned up graphics. The reference that were sited in the existing Wiki article have sites to this paper. The works of Jan Sładkowski and Jens Eisert (et al) all site this. The Meyer work provides 3 Theorems and proofs that are basic to most subsequent work. The proofs should be part of the article.

Since Eisert is in the see also list, his co authored paper of Eisert, Wilkens, and Lowenstein should be sited [1] Phys.Rev.Lett.83:3077,1999, it applies quantum strategies to the classic zero-sum gaming theory example of the prisoners dilemma gaming theory. (is cites the "Meyer penny" paper. I would, but apparently I don't know how properly site a published reference.

The link that was removed is a well known paper in Quantum Game Theory, apparently, for not being published, It is published in the "International Journal of Theoretical Physics" my apologies if I didn't site it properly. An Invitation to Quantum Game Theory

Piotrowski, E. W., Sladkowski, J., An invitation to quantum game theory, International Journal of Theoretical Physics 42 (2003) 1089. Sladkowski was already sited, who is known for his works in applying Quantum game theory to economics, his most easily lay work for wiki would have to be: Quantum Game Theory in Finance Abbreviated version was published in Quantitative Finance 4 (2004) 1-7

Also of particular interest is Piotrowski and Sladkowski paper Trading by Quantum Rules-Quantum Anthropic Principle but it is for the lay person but provides excellent references that anyone familiar good at mathematics can follow and apply to economics. These are significant works that are currently being put into practice and therefore effecting if not today's markets, tomorrow's.

I am not familiar with editing in wiki, so simply provided discussion here, since my contributions were edited since I could come back to contribute more from yesterday. I don't think the editor was up to date on economics and quantum gaming theory or they would have recognized the reference.

You've got a lot of stuff above. I'll work on partial responses.
  1. I removed the sentence, "Much of the work on Quantum game theory is based on the original works of David A. Meyer "Quantum Strategies"". There's a few reasons for this. One is that (I feel) that the kind of intellectual genealogy which is good form within academics isn't needed for an encyclopedia. What's important is to get the ideas in, and make sure to reference reliable sources where those ideas can be checked. It's nice at times to have bits of the intellectual history of ideas, but it's of pretty minor importance for an article. That said, if it is going to be included, the history itself needs to come from an outside source. For instance, if I did a search on most of the stuff written on topic X and found that one particular early paper got cited 4 times as much as any other, and so should be considered seminal, that would be improper WP:OR to include in the article. If there's a good book on topic X which includes some history and talks about the article as seminal, then I can use that within the WP article. CRETOG8(t/c) 07:01, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  2. I just put a reference to Piotrowski & Sladkowski back in--you can look at the source for how I did it. I included a link to the "official" page so that it could be easily verified that the article was published, and then also your link to the (hopefully pretty much the same) free version.
