[edit]This page appears to be a barely-edited version of the text found here, which I came across when looking up better sources because the wiki page had no "real world" numbers. While it is entirely possible that the DoE's page is taken from the wiki, my guess is that the opposite is true (and I see no source marker on the DoE). Note that this does not imply anything bad is happening here, it's entirely possible that the DoE page is freely usable, but I cannot find any such mention on that page.

- There's also no indication on energy.gov site than any of it is copyrighted. Government work is not, by default. No copyright, no violation. Still some rewriting would be better than copying, just in case. Dicklyon 21:17, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'm also curious if we need this article at all. It could, and IMHO should, be folded into the QE article. Maury 12:27, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
This was easy. [1] clearly states that the content of the site is in the public domain. --Alvestrand 14:35, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Business-side info
[edit]I had previously added a link to a global directory of manufacturers of solar cell testing machines. The information was taken down by someone who hadn't actually reviewed the validity of the information but was deleting based on the fact that I posted up several links to ENF.
On the suggestion of one of person that removed the information, I am submitting suggested comments/links here in the hope that other editors will evaluate the relevance and resubmit it to the main page (I felt that people who wanted to learn about quantum efficiency of solar cells may also want an impartial complete list of manufacturers that make the devices that allow testing of quantum efficiency of solar cells):

Merge
[edit]There are numerous problems with this page, and I think they would best be solved with its merging.
The article started as nothing more than a scape of the DoE web site. If people want to read the DoE's article on QE, they can go and read it for themselves. The Wiki is not a place to collect PD information of all sorts.
In that form, the article is utterly redundant. If you simply remove the words "solar cell" from it, you end up with the same basic information as the quantum efficiency article, but with much less information, and focused on a single topic for no apparent reason.
Since then the article had gone on to collect several other bits of information, which are likewise better served as parts of other articles. The section on Energy conversion efficiency has nothing to do with quantum efficiency, at least in its current form.
I'd like to do the merge soonish.
