Add an "Attractions", "Local Attractions", or "Nearby Attractions" section?

[edit]

It would be very beneficial for potential visitors to known what the nearby attractions are or at least the attractions inside the town. Is anyone opposed to adding a section detail this topic? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.153.200.181 (talk) 15:10, 28 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too opinionated?

[edit]

I am rather nooby, but should the youth section really say "excellent baseball diamonds"?

Searching "Qualicum" in Wikipedia has produced a number of references which might have a place in this article. I have added some, but thought I might add some others here to see if others think they have a place in the main article:

Wikipedia:WikiProject_Missing_encyclopedic_articles/High_schools/CA asks for an article about Kwalikum Secondary School which is in Qualicum Beach. It would be a red link but we might say that the town is served by that high school.

HMS Qualicum, asked for at List of Royal Navy ship names would be another red link but it was a vessel named for the town.

List of place names in Canada of Aboriginal origin Should reference to this list be made in this article?

The Qualicum Beach Airport could be mentioned as could the CHPQ, the local radio station.

Should there be a reference to School District 69 Qualicum.

Should we refer to Mount Arrowsmith which looks over the town?

In the List_of_newspapers_in_Canada#British_Columbia both local papers are red links so I suppose there is no point in adding them.

Just ideas, any comments? KenWalker | Talk 00:49, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To add to those ideas, I have come across the articles about Pouce Coupe, British Columbia, Chetwynd, British Columbia and Taylor, British Columbia, smaller communities than Qualicum Beach. These articles would make good models for improving this article. KenWalker | Talk 18:26, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mayor Update

[edit]

I updated the section about the politics and government section to include Trudy Coates most recent re-election to mayor, however this http://www.civicinfo.bc.ca/election2008/reports/electionresults2008.asp?localgovernmentid=108 was the only source I could find, and its unofficial.--Designsquid (talk) 20:18, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics

[edit]

I updated the Demographics section to reflect the 2006 Census. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Designsquid (talkcontribs) 20:50, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What about summer temperatures? Winter temperatures are well documented here, but I've heard that summers are hot, the water is warm and the beach is sandy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.53.48.224 (talk) 06:56, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Qualicum Beach, British ColumbiaQualicum BeachQualicum Beach already redirects here. Move supported by the applicable naming guideline (WP:CANSTYLE). A Google search shows that this town is the primary (only) use of this name. Move consistent with the approach taken for other Canadian settlements. Should this page be reviewed?

[edit]

Should Qualicum Beach be rereviewed? The page seems like it should be a C-Class article. If the article needs to be updated, then it does not need to be reviewed yet. Cascadia630 (talk) 23:44, 10 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
