[edit]If a person is in a quagmire it means that they are caught in a sticky situation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.63.212.30 (talk) 17:41, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
..................... Un-effing believable. Are Wikipedia's publishing standards so lax that they allow any left-wing nut to make a political statement without ANY screening? This isn't the first time I've seen this bullshit. No one should be able to publish on this site, without being reviewed first. Stop this crap now.

Quagmire redirect to Glenn Quagmire?
[edit]I think that the Quagmire page should redirect to Glenn Quagmire and the current Quagmire page should be renamed Quagmire (disambiguation). I think most people who type in Quagmire are looking for the Family Guy character. Thoughts? --70.96.210.48
- I think you have a very narrow perspective. --Dystopos 07:26, 21 January 2007 (UTC)
- It was just a thought! Jeez. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.96.210.48 (talk) 18:48, 21 January 2007 (UTC).
- The problem is that such a redirect creates a problem with respect to the primary topic of the term Quagmire. I am willing to agree that with respect to usage, "Glenn Quagmire" may very well be the "quagmire" that the majority of people are looking for when they get on Wikipedia and type the word "quagmire". However, with respect to long-term significance, this is certainly not the case— Glenn is a television character invented within the past decade; the use of the term for a fen or bog dates back to linguistic roots in Old Teutonic. If any topic were to become the primary one other than that for a bog or fen, I would still have to vote for the term for a sticky situation before that for the cartoon character, all questions of primacy with regard to usage aside. That's all. KDS4444Talk 16:07, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Dictionary meaning
[edit]How come no reference in this disambiguation page is made to the original dictionary meaning of "quagmire" -- "A soft boggy or marshy area that gives way under foot" ([www.esperanzaproperties.com/glossary.php]"? Is there a relevant article it could be linked to? How about "quicksand"?
What about the Pokémon named "Quagmire"? --Wykypydya (talk) 04:46, 10 April 2008 (UTC)
- I believe that's Quagsire (or a similar spelling). 83.104.37.31 (talk) 21:12, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Now that there is a full article on the term mire with a subsection on the word quagmire, this has been addressed. Now just have to switch around the redirects a bit to make everything consistent. But my thoughts exactly. KDS4444Talk 15:02, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
Quagmire game article
[edit]Maybe we should make an article on the Quagmire game by Tony Small. A mention of it in the disambiguation just isn't enough IMO. - Imacuser223 (talk) 19:36, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Tony Small does not have a Wikipedia article written about him yet. Neither is there yet an article for "Quagmire (game)". As long as this remains the case, including a line to the disambig page is pointless (and is why I have removed it). However, if an article about Mr. Small or his game were to be written and survive any subsequent deletion nominations, I would be all for it! KDS4444Talk 15:08, 17 January 2013 (UTC)
