What I want to say is gun doesn't mean staff, it has the same meaning as qiang. In Chinese, qiang=槍=gun, of course there is another type of spear [矛/mao], was used by acient Chinese warrior before qiang shows up in the battlefield. Moreover, qiang is a simplify and shorter form of mao.

The word is used for firearm in modern Chinese.

[edit]

The word 枪 is used for firearm in modern Chinese, where on the page should I add this?

Also, perhaps due to this, despite their being a Chinese page for Qiang spears, https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%A7%8D it doesn't appear in the list of languages. 2405:6E00:290:3DA9:45A2:F72A:D21:727F (talk) 23:06, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
