Image copyright problem with Image:Logo-QFA.jpg
The image Image:Logo-QFA.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

World cup appearance?
qatar could appear in the 2014 and 2018 world cups so why does it say in the infobox first 2022? 78.101.106.151 (talk) 20:07, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
- That's because it doesn't, it says host, of which they are. We alrwdy know what 2022 is for them, the others are blank because we don't know yet. Druryfire (talk) 20:16, 9 January 2011 (UTC)
Nationalized Players
I think it's important to mention that a very high number of the players are born overseas and many have gained citizenship recently. Of the current squad, 5 (25%) are born abroad and of the recent call ups 8 (almost half) are also born abroad. There's no problem with people gaining citizenship and playing for another country, it happens in many other countries. But the interesting part is that until recently, a foreigner could not become a Qatari Citizen, even if born in Qatar (if one of your parents is Qatari and you are born there, you get nationality). However, not long ago this was changed, and now, any foreigner living in Qatar for 25 years, without a criminal record, of respected living and able to speak arabic is able to apply for citizenship. This clearly does not apply to any foreign born player in the team. Moreover, a few years back there was a problem where a brazilian player was banned/fined by FIFA because he played for brazil's youth team and Qatar's national team, something that FIFA does not allow (once you play for a country, that's the only country you can play for). Arg2k (talk) 18:38, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- So you planning to do this for every nation such as Bahrain, Australia, Croatia, Lebanon, Holland and Indonesia to name a few, or just do it on the actual page of the players? Druryfire (talk) 20:12, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think the team's page would be the right place. I didn't know those countries had the same "problem" with many foreign players. I think the difference is that in Qatar (and other middle eastern countries) it is virtually impossible to gain citizenship other than being born there and having a local parent. All the foreign players are getting their nationalities rather quickly (most moved to the country in the last 4 years or less), apparently bypassing the local law that applies to everyone else who's not a football player (i don't know if this happens in other sports as well) Arg2k (talk) 20:47, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- If you feel it's worthwhile then go for it, but please provide as many references as possible as no references will only mean that it will be pulled at a later date Druryfire (talk) 20:52, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

--NOTE by MB: fully agree that it is a critical bit of information about the character of the Qatari team, which should be made transparent. The table showing the current squad should have a column for "country of birth". This shows two important things: 1) Qatar is willing to invest to improve its soccer, which will eventually trickle down in the country; 2) Qatar is free of bias for employment. There is no difference between this and scientists getting getting automatic residency and citizenship in some countries. Qatar has opened up to talent, even if it is not in the traditional form of economics of immigration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Matt Bianco (talk • contribs) 01:48, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- Qatar does not have a naturalization scheme or policy such as that of, for example, Singapore, so it doesn't need to be mentioned. They simply naturalize players when they are in need of stronger players for an upcoming tournament - something which a lot of countries do. When Qatar develops a clearly outlined naturalization policy for sports, similar to that of Singapore, then it could be mentioned. Also worth mentioning, even though this conversation has ended, Qatar naturalizing players isn't a new thing. Some of their best players, such as Mahmoud Soufi and Mohammed Al Enazi, were naturalized in the '80s and '90s. Lastly, in response to your idea of listing naturalized players, it would be quite hard to distinguish between the locally-born players who were naturalized and those who weren't naturalized, and it may be difficult to even establish their place of birth. Should we assume that from their name? Elspamo4 (talk) 10:21, 4 June 2013 (UTC)

2018 - did not qualify
Could someone with the appropriate 'skills' mark Qatar as 2018 non-qualifiers having been eliminated today by Uzbekistan.
Qatar's début will be as hosts in 2022. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.1.56.56 (talk) 20:12, 28 March 2017 (UTC)
Mobile heading issue
On mobile Wikipedia, the only level two headings that show are history and competitive record. Anyone know why this is or what can be done to fix it? —Jordano53 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 01:37, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
- Fixed, thanks for pointing that out. It took me a while to figure out what was causing this, turns out there was a {col-begin} with no {col-end} in the Olympic Games subsection, I removed it since it wasn't doing anything. Elspamo4 (talk) 02:40, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for File:Qatar Football Association.png
File:Qatar Football Association.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a non-free use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

There is an inaccuracy in the historical head coach information in this page for the Qatar National Team… there is one coach missing and the dates are inaccurate of the following coach.
This line is inaccurate: Brazil Evaristo de Macedo (1979–1984, 1984–1985, 1992)
The line should read : Brazil Evaristo de Macedo (1981-1984, 1984–1985, 1992)
The following line needs to be added to the list: Brazil Sebastião Pereira de Araújo (1979-1980)

Assalaamu alaikkum
