Opening statement

[edit]

In reviews I conduct, I may make small copyedits. These will only be limited to spelling and punctuation (removal of double spaces and such). I will only make substantive edits that change the flow and structure of the prose if I previously suggested and it is necessary. For replying to Reviewer comment, please use  Done,  Fixed, plus Added,  Not done,  Doing..., or minus Removed, followed by any comment you'd like to make. I will be crossing out my comments as they are redressed, and only mine. A detailed, section-by-section review will follow. —♠Vami_IV†♠ 19:27, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Prose

[edit]

Add some more pictures.

  • Buses then continue east via [...] Buses continue via Needs some variety.
  • Westbound service heads via Hollis Court Boulevard What direction?
  • Move the reason why people were protesting for a more expensive line to earlier in "Start of service". I was rather confused by that until I reached the end of the paragraph.
  • into four zones [...] located in Zone B Add the ordering for those zones after their introduction.
  • A lot of "World War II" is after World War II.
  • asking that full service on the Q26 be restored. I had not gotten the impression that service had been reduced.
  • since it North Shore Axe "it".

I express the same sentiment as Epicgenius. Enjoy your holiday; I'm content to leave my comments across your various articles await acting upon if it means a completed article when that acting is carried out. –♠Vami_IV†♠ 01:18, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Vami IV: Are there any other issues with the article? Thanks.--Kew Gardens 613 (talk) 17:24, 21 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Other GA commentary

[edit]
  1. I feel that for bus route articles to pass GAN, they usually should include a route map as a prominent image within the article, and not as a link. It is the most fundamental way to describe a route, and readers expect this. A historic route map might serve this purpose, if that could be found. Maybe (probably) this has been discussed elsewhere, in which case just my $0.02.
  2. I changed the infobox header from 'q26' to 'Q26' as a minor edit. After that I noticed that the linked route map uses the small cap 'Q', so the lowercase was probably to capture that style. You might want to consider leaving it capitalized - that might be how the route is best known, and otherwise, it may be tiresome to constantly correct well-meaning editors who attempt to 'fix' this. But, if you want to change it back to Q26 - that's fine with me. LaTeeDa (talk) 18:44, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
LaTeeDa, thanks for your comments. Regarding (1), this page technically already has a routemap - it is at the top right corner, and it is geographically accurate and can be exported to KML format, for other uses that require it. However, it may be possible to add a {{routemap}} template as well. Regarding (2), the "correct" format has the borough abbreviation smaller than the route number, as displayed on the front of buses. However, the route header is formatted as small, capital letters, so the output is still read as "Q26", even though the input is "q26". epicgenius (talk) 19:19, 19 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
If the branding/logo is small cap Q for Q26, then maybe an image that includes that logo could be in the article. I do think it's a little confusing as is. Maybe just the image of the first page of the schedule could be included somewhere - which would also add visual variety to the article.LaTeeDa (talk) 13:06, 21 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
