I think there is an error here. It is said that the museum's name is misleading. But on the Pushkin's Website, you could read: "in 1937 was named in honour of Alexander Pushkin the great Russian poet."(http://www.museum.ru/gmii/defengl.htm)

Beginning of the collection

According to the official website the first collection comprised NOT only replicas and 2 manuscripts, but also important private purchases of egyptian art and european painting. Unfortunately i am not fluent enough in english writting to fix the text.Ricardofrantz (talk) 23:04, 31 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
