Page Title and Disambiguation Issues

[edit]

Given the remarks on this page, and also on the disambiguation (talk) page, there is no doubt a reasonable argument for having a page describing the dog breed. However, it is also reasonable that the page title should explicitly mention that it is referring to a dog breed e.g. "Puggle (dog breed)" or similar - so as to avoid confusion in relation to searches for the offspring of monotremes. The most practical solution is probably to have all undifferentiated searches for "puggle" land on the disambiguation page where the appropriate choice can be made by the searcher. Peter B. Appearance section

[edit]

Selena Hernandez (talk · contribs), the link for the the once source you have cited for this section is broken, please update it, otherwise it is not WP:Verifiable and so does not meet Wikipedia's standards for inclusion. Also understand that these dogs are not a breed, they are a crossbreed. Additionally, as you are a student and this appears to be an assessment for you, some pointers:

  • please respect the {{use dmy dates}} template at the top of page, it looks sloppy not doing so
  • fill out as many parameters as possible from the {{cite}} or {{cite news}} templates; attribution to an author, date of publication, title and publication are critical to verifiability, without which the source is useless as soon as the url link breaks (or as is the case here does not work)
  • if using imperial measurements, use the {{convert}} template, the majority of the world's population use the metric system.

Further, I have attempted to find the source cited using the scant information provided, unfortunately I was unsuccessful, so I have removed the section for now. If you can make the source attributable I would support the section's reinclusion. Cavalryman (talk) 04:43, 29 June 2020 (UTC).[reply]
Hello again Selena Hernandez, thank you for addressing most of the points I have listed above. Unfortunately dogtime.com is well short of Wikipedia’s policies on sources (please read WP:RS), it has no author attributed, no discernible editorial processes, appears to exist to facilitate links to advertised content for which the website takes a commission and its own terms and conditions states the website "do[es] not warrant that the content is accurate, reliable or correct". Can you find another reliable source for the section? Cavalryman (talk) 22:50, 29 June 2020 (UTC).[reply]
It has been over a day without response so I have removed the paragraph again. Cavalryman (talk) 00:02, 1 July 2020 (UTC).[reply]

hello, the gallery features multiple tan puggles, is it possible to remove a few and replace with some of the other coats available. Black is the next most common followed by brindle. Bigdogcole (talk) 18:07, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We need freely licensed images that have been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons for that purpose. I've deleted the gallery regardless because it goes against our guidelines for galleries and the images do little to illustrate the breeds. Traumnovelle (talk) 21:03, 12 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
