Talk:Pucklechurch

I removed the photo of the remand centre. Whilst it is factually accurate as a photograph, it doesn't add anything to the article (it is after all just a photo of a car park with a building in the background) and gives a biased view of the village. Pucklechurch is a rural village but this photo would have the reader believe that it's a prison village and nothing more. If anyone has one, how about a photo of the Oak tree near the Rec, or the old village shops, or historic Pucklechurch School, the Norman church, or maybe even a photo of Bolton's or something? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.40.57.31 (talk) 16:58, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

I've also removed the reference to Ashfield being a "major employer in the area". It makes it sound like everyone in Pucklechurch works at Ashfield. I've undone edits just made. Simply because it is obvious that people commute from Pucklechurch doesn't mean it shouldn't be mentioned. It's obvious that Michael Jaackson was a singer but his page still says it. Arnie Side (talk) 21:46, 25 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi 78.40.57.31. I notice that you changed the page for Pucklechurch again, removing the parts about commuting and HMP Ashfield. I don't want to get into an edit war over it, but I feel that those are points worth making, particularly Ashfield, which has its own page here. Hi Arnie, OK lets add the bits in about Ashfield but probably it's not worth mentioning where people work? For starters, it's kind of obvious that people work in nearby areas. But similarly if we're going to assert a fact then we should have a reference... because, odd as it would be, maybe they don't! Also where would we draw the line... do we then also say "and a few also commute to London (which I know to be true!) and one or two sometimes work in Edinburgh" and so on? Also, out of interest, do you have any info about the cycle path that used to run from Coxgrove Hill through to the old Mangotsfield station? Added a couple of images - the School House where my mother was educated (while living at Parkfield) as an infant and the Church where a number of relatives are buried. Hope these add to the article.WyrdLight (talk) 17:28, 30 January 2011 (UTC)

Crematorium

A google turned up that website of a Pet Crematorium at 200 Westerleigh Road, Pucklechurch, opened 1991. There is not coincidentally a human crematorium on the same street? (I don't live in this county.)Cloptonson (talk) 07:00, 9 March 2015 (UTC)
