I have cut the following passage from the article Riot. I think that a comparative discussion of the offences under this Act should go in this article, rather than in the articles on the individual offences. James500 (talk) 02:15, 14 August 2011 (UTC)
If there are fewer than twelve people present, the lesser offence of violent disorder is charged, for which there is a requirement for at least three persons to use or threaten unlawful violence together, and no common purpose is required.
