[edit]I added the ref tag, because this page needs it. I'm assuming that this[1] is the source, but I don't have access to the paper, so I'll let someone else figure it out.

- I do not think that paper has info on P. galindoi. It is about P. atlantis. Alan Rockefeller (Talk - contribs) 23:59, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Actually Psilocybe mexicana
[edit]This species is synonymous with P. mexicana. Alan Rockefeller (Talk - contribs) 00:00, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
- Would you suggest merging the pages onto Psilocybe mexicana? Cheeseywiz98 (talk) 11:12, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
Misidentified...Tampanensis??
[edit]P. Tampanensis is incredibly rare, whereas P. Mexicana is relatively common. I highly doubt that people are commonly confusing P. Tampanensis for other species. Cheeseywiz98 (talk) 10:30, 3 December 2020 (UTC)
- In cultivation, Psilocybe tampanensis is more common than P. mexicana. In the wild P. tampanensis is neither common nor rare in the regions it occurs - it's just hard to spot and most people don't recognize it. There's been several collections found in Florida and Georgia in the past couple of years, several of which I have studied and sequenced. P. atlantis is actually P. tampanensis, and it's not too uncommon around the Atlanta area. I've uploaded a few sequences to Genbank and have a few more I'll be uploading soon. The actual P. galindoi was described from Jalisco - I've visited the type location and there was lots of P. mexicana around.

- A few years later and a lot more education (and misinformation correcting) and I see that you're totally right here. Also, based off the findings with P. atlantis/P. tampanensis, would you suggest the pages be merged onto Psilocybe tampanensis? Cheeseywiz98 (talk) 11:12, 22 January 2022 (UTC)
