Protocol signing date
[edit]It says in this article that the Protocol is signed on 13 Jan. 1967, but I think it should be 31 Jan. 1967. Source: http://www.unhcr.org/3b66c2aa10.html on page 52, footnote 4. Cheers! Are all parties sovereign?
[edit]@L.tak: Regarding [1]: It's unclear to me that all the parties to the treaty are sovereign states. [2] lists Netherlands as a party, but Wikipedia says that Netherlands is not sovereign; Kingdom of the Netherlands is. It's clear the list is not referring to the Kingdom of the Netherlands because the treaty is not in effect in parts of the Kingdom outside of Netherlands, like Curaçao. Have you seen other sources which say differently? -- Beland (talk) 21:27, 8 January 2019 (UTC)
- The problem is that the Netherlands can mean two things: a shortcut for the Kingdom of the Netherlands or its constituent country ("land") called Netherlands as well (see refs there). For all treaty actions it's the treaty as a subject of international law that ratifies on behalf of the Netherlands, Curacao, Sint Maarten or Aruba. It's website is a bit more precise regarding this treaty (here); see also the introduction regarding the Netherlands here. I hope that helps! If you need more sources, let me know!
