The treatment of these mixed-bag trace fossils as a genus would require a type species and a generic authority. While the ICZN still recognizes such a category, many researchers treat these groupings as informal. Except for the lone mention of 'genus' in the lede, this article treats the group informally. Unless some editor wants to explain why a collection of diverse fossls is a genus, perhaps we should opt for the easy way out.--Wloveral (talk) 01:04, 20 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
