Cardiovascular risk

[edit]

Cardiovascular risk correllates with severity of proteinuria: doi:10.1371/journal.pmed.0050207 JFW | T@lk 22:51, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bad collection

[edit]

Another cause of Proteinuria is a Bad collection. For example in paeds if you try and collect from a young child to confirm UTI's, if you receive proteinuria it could be because some skin was scraped into the urine. Any thoughts? 182.255.99.214 (talk) 11:01, 12 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Symptoms and causes

[edit]

In the introduction, we find the following the explanation: "Severe proteinuria can cause nephrotic syndrome in which there is worsening swelling of the body."

As far as I understand, nephrotic syndrome is a collection of symptoms, so it isn't really appropriate to say that proteinuria causes the nephrotic syndrome. I would find the following wording more to the point: "Severe proteinuria is one of the symptoms of nephrotic syndrome and often occurs together with worsening swelling of the body." --78.94.66.134 (talk) 07:38, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
