No Indication of a Regius Professorship
[edit]I checked a budget in the Edinburgh Gazette of December 13th, 1861 (here). The chair is mentioned as part of St Mary's College. But there is no indication of a payment from the crown which would have to be indicated as in other chairs. I wonder how this could have been a Regius Chair without royal emoulments.
