Merge Evzones / Proedriki Froura

Given that Evzones and Proedriki Froura refer to the same entity, at different times, and the articles a short enough to merge, I think they could fit well in a single article. Unless it is expected that both will shortly grow substantially. Nabla 22:55, 5 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Fez is wrong etymology. The cap is named Phareon.

Having served the presidential guards myself this is the first thing that a new recruit has to know. The fez was adopted by the Ottomans which were the main enemies of the evzones. It is not allowed to anyone to call the evzones' cap as a fez in the guard. It is totally inapropriate. A new recruit would receive severe punishment for calling the phareo as a muslim fez.
