[edit]This phenomenon is NOT protected by the UNESCO world heritage list. This information is wrong and false!
- Assertions seem to suggest to the contrary? PPEMES (talk) 13:29, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
Processions of the Holy Blood doesn't seem to be confined solely to Bruges, Belgium, does it? Wouldn't you agree that Blutritt (c.f. fr:Procession du Saint-Sang à Weingarten) could be included in this article which could then present the topic in a more generic way on processions of the Holy Blood around the Feast of the Ascension, and than exemplify with local examples - notable ones being that of Belgium (Bruges) and Germany ("Blutritt")? C.f. also Corpus Christi (feast). PPEMES (talk) 21:29, 17 December 2019 (UTC)
- I think a merge is undesirable, since this particular procession is listed as part of the heritage of humanity in a way that others are not. What I would be in favour of is moving this to Procession of the Holy Blood, Bruges, and making the existing title a general article about such processions (there are also some elsewhere in the Low Countries, such as Boxtel and Hoogstraten) or a disambiguation page. --Andreas Philopater (talk) 18:43, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
- I agree that a merger is undesirable. It rather assumes that the religious significance of the procession takes precidence over its local importance which may be the case in some events of the kind but not one like this which, as Andreas Philopater says, has UNESCO recognition. I would also agree with the disambiguation rationale. However, the title should be Procession of the Holy Blood (Bruges) with the brackets. —Brigade Piron (talk) 08:27, 25 August 2020 (UTC)
