I think that the Stop and question section should be rewritten. I mean, while it technically is an instance of a stop and question type action, it's in no way a typical example. The example could be noted, but it shouldn't be the main focus of that section. 64.30.122.45 (talk) 08:17, 7 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs some attention, especially now that police protests have become increasingly relevant. DecoyDaddy (talk) 05:01, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

====New Orleans==== A WEEK after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans, on September 4th 2005, the police shot six civilians as they were crossing the Danziger bridge across the Industrial Canal. Two were killed; the others were seriously wounded, one losing an arm. ... Police officers at first portrayed the shoot-out as a heroic victory by lawmen over the lawless. The official version was that some of the civilians involved had been shooting at the police, but the police rallied and justice prevailed. [1]

Preceding section removed from page for lack of relevancy and extreme bias. 206.126.209.6 (talk) 01:40, 1 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

HasteurBot, could you please forward the link to the article for creation "Community Alienation and its Impact on Police" as I mistakenly deleted your 20 August 2013 email message. If you don't have it, I could repost it and edit it as you suggested. Thanks, Icemanwcs (talk) 17:55, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ankony cites

[edit]

A user on a campaign is removing citations to Robert Ankony wherever he finds them.[]https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Proactive_policing&diff=642516475&oldid=632327105] The ones in this article seem appropriate, regardless of who added them. Unless the sources don't meet the standards at WP:V or aren't relevant to this article there's no reason for removing them. Rezin (talk) 23:16, 14 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Rezin is misleading editors here and is on course of action to oppose the policing of Wikipedia from self promoting spammers WP:SPAMMER. The editor ICEMANWCS states he is Robert Ankony and has spammed a great deal of articles with links to his own website, books, and original research WP:OR. He also has a conflict of interest WP:COI promoting his own interests. Surely Ankony has access to secondary sources but he chooses to self promote his own website. They are not appropriate as they violate several policies most notably WP:SPAM. Rezin fails to grasp this policy violation and believes the reference is good for the article so policy violations do not matter. Pure and simple case of an author spamming Wikipedia to promote his own works which a misuse/abuse of Wikipedia for self interests. 172.56.9.67 (talk) 00:27, 15 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
