US focus / page move

[edit]

This article is written as if prison college programs do not exist anywhere except the United States. I was the main author of Prison education, so I understand first-hand that covering this topic from a world-wide perspective, when there is so much data on it in just the US, will be very difficult. I just discovered this article today and don't have time to take on a new project myself. If someone else plans to expand this article to include other countries, obviously that would be great, and if so, please make your intentions clear. If not, I suggest this page be moved to 'Prison-to-college programs in the United States'. That way the title will match the content in the article. Looking forward to hearing the thoughts of everyone else. Damien Linnane (talk) 06:10, 9 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll be moving this page shortly if there are no comments or objections. Damien Linnane (talk) 01:55, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Prison education programs in the United States

[edit]

Over the next couple of days, I will be rewording the lead section of this article to clearly state the topic. I will review and update the citations. I will also expand the section by adding a brief summary of the article sections and transition to the next section.

I will add to the section titled Program Models so that it includes Adult Basic Information, peer tutors, and challenges they face. I will discuss the selection criteria, curriculum, government funding, and economic opportunities for markets. I will also talk about challenges with accessing the internet and technology being banned for inmates.  Lfreeman333 (talk) 05:11, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds great Lfreeman333, I'm glad someone is taking an interest in this. Looking forward to seeing your changes. Damien Linnane (talk) 06:14, 24 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
