Singular form for the title

[edit]

The most common form over the last four decades seems to be prisiadka.[1]  —Michael Z. 21:01, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was thinking about this, but in Russian textbooks the word is always plural and in English the usage of this word is negligible, so in my opinion it makes no sense to speak of preferable usage. By the way, please add Ukrainian spelling.
By the way, I think I will slow down editing this article; I wasted a huge amount of time on this very visible but poorly described dance move. If you happen to have (no-bullshit) Ukrainian sources, you are welcome to add. They may probably be found in professional descriptions of dances Hopak, Kozak, etc. Even a refence that prisiadki are used in so-and-so Ukrainian dance would be great. - Altenmann >talk 21:16, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Не перекручуйте факти: українські танці Гопак, Козачок не є російськими «прісядкамі»! --Микола Василечко (talk) 21:44, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You got very confused. Prisiadki is not a dance, it is a dance move. The sources say that prisiadki is an Ukrainian dance move. - Altenmann >talk 21:57, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Still, it is the usage in English, and we WP:USEENGLISH WP:COMMONNAME.  —Michael Z. 22:57, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And the English term “vprisiadku dancing” doesn’t seem to occur in any sources. Probably shouldn’t appear in bold.  —Michael Z. 23:05, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please do whatever you think necessary. As I said, I am retiring from this page. - Altenmann >talk 00:03, 9 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A type of X

  • "A terrier is a type of dog." Fine.
  • "A terrier is a type of dogs." Wrong.

Do you agree? Your actions at Prisiadki suggest that you do not speak English accurately. Equinox 00:47, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
