[edit]This article would be more useful if a) it cited the original reference in which Jaynes proposed this, so we can compare with other sources and see whether he was the first, and b) it cited some of the other authors who have studied transformation groups: not least Severini et al, who proved the result about probability matching, but also all the others who contributed prior to that. I've been reading about this topic. I don't think this article is factually correct. For instance, it says that Jaynes first suggested this idea, and cites a 1968 paper. But there are many papers before that on exactly this topic, including Fraser (1961) and Hora and Buehler (1966). The mathematics was essentially solved in the Hora and Buehler paper, but the solution isn't even mentioned on this page. I wonder if this page should be deleted, tbh.
