"Preventative" is a non-word

I corrected the first sentence, where it read "... the United States Air Force as preventative maintenance inspections ..." to "... the United States Air Force as preventive maintenance inspections ...". "Preventative" is a non-word in the English language and it is not used in official United States Air Force documents.
