Title
[edit]If the usual spelling in English is 'Preussen', why is that not the title of this English language article? Roger 8 Roger (talk) 04:00, 8 June 2019 (UTC)
- I don't see any English refs using "Preußen", so I'll change it. HopsonRoad (talk) 01:18, 10 June 2019 (UTC)

- Because Preussen already exists as a redirect to this article, I don't have the skills to properly swap the contents between the that one and this one. Perhaps, someone with administrative skills can do this. HopsonRoad (talk) 01:58, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
- I have swapped the article and the redirect. KSFT (t|c) 02:27, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Nice and simple -- many thanks! Roger 8 Roger (talk) 02:33, 10 June 2019 (UTC)
Tacking in force 9 winds
[edit]I would like to see some evidence supporting this, since sources I have read say Preussen could not be tacked in winds of any force. When a large sailing ship is tacked the fore yards are braced round in the opposite way to the main yards, the ship is turned across the wind, and then yards on the after masts are successively braced around to the new tack. Because the spacing between the Preussen's masts was too short to allow the yards to be braced on opposite directions, and because the time it would take to square the fore yards, square the main, and then complete bracing round the fore was so long, it was effectively impossible to tack, and the ship had to be worn round instead. 21:55, 14 April 2020 2601:589:300:ca70::a8d
Query about photo
[edit]Does anyone know about an original photo Vanna321 (talk) 18:38, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
- Vanna, click on any photo in this article and it will take you to the image, where you can see related images by category. BTW, a Talk page is primarily for the purpose of discussing the article in question. Also, one usually starts a new topic at the bottom with a new heading for clarity.
