Merge discussion
[edit]I was notified of this merge discussion, but on the face of it it seems a reasonable proposal. Tr.wp doesn't have 2 separate articles. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:22, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- You mean "canvassed"? Since when do we follow Turkish WP here? --E4024 (talk) 22:26, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- @E4024: I only asked the way of proposal to merge. Read Wikipedia:Assume good faith. Takabeg (talk) 23:28, 25 January 2013 (UTC)d
- E4024 yes you could call it canvass, if Takabeg had any idea of how I might view article merges - which he can't have. I took it as being a friendly and polite editor asking for advice. My comment is as above, that on the face of it it seems a reasonable proposal. And despite what you say we do look at local wps in such cases, whether its Turkish, or Catalan, or Japanese. Where the local wp doesn't have an article it's sometimes a flag that the en.wp article may be a WP:FORK, sometimes not. In this case however the need for a separate article isn't clear. Do you have one? In ictu oculi (talk) 23:58, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

- Oppose: This article is not about the seal, it is about a state list. In the page of presidency it is claimed that the stars in the seal refer to those 16 states. But even without this claim, 16 historical state list (albeit its non-academic value) persists in many essays. So the topic is independent of the seal and it is not a good idea to merge the two. The rationale tr:Wiki lacks this article has no point in this discussion. Whereas en:Wiki has over 4 million articles the present capacity of tr:Wiki is only 1/20 th of this number. That means tr:Wiki lacks many articles. Nedim Ardoğa (talk) 08:40, 26 January 2013 (UTC)
