[edit]I am currently editing this page extensively, as there are various factual errors and ommisions. Does anyone have a source for the statement that drosophila has only one presenilin? Just because the locus for only one of the presenilin homologs in the fly has been found, this does not mean there is only one form. It only shows that one form has been found, and not the other. As there is sequence homology between the presenilins and two C. Elegans genes, the statement that invertebrates only have one version is incorrect. I will remove this section for now. I do not understand how to edit the the protbox thing on this page. I would appreciate it is someone could add the relevent data for the PSEN1 gene. Does that box support multiple genes at the same time? I have also added a few references, but I have used the referencing system I understand rather than the one that was already present on the page. Sorry to be suuch a noob, I know a fair bit about the suject of this page, but I am a beginner at wiki editing. Povmcdov 17:42, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
OK, my work is done here. I will remove the stub tag. Please help me by correcting any glaring formatting errors - as I say, I'm new to this. Opinions on the structure section would be welcome as well. I know that this is "not the place for original research", but how cutting edge can things be? If there is to be an entry for subjects such as this, then some of the sources will be very new. After all, the gene was only discovered 12 years ago. The model I mention may well turn out to be wrong, but it is the best we have at this time. Povmcdov 19:48, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
