Rusalkii and Hatchens, I do think the article is promotional at present, KrAsia and Rest of World look suspect, the claim about a 80 million membership is an improbably high number. Even trade unions don't nearly have that let alone a traders' organisation. At best, they have uncritically reproduced a claim without even basic fact checking. The article is also sanitised of his political affiliation whereas his claim to notability is his connection with the Cabinet and his status of a quasi-lobbyist/politician. That said I think the subject easily meets notability guidelines for BLPs considering the Quartz(RSP entry) piece and this Scroll.in article, both of which are in-depth and about him. I also found an old Times of India article which is about him being nominated to contest an election. I was planning on revamping this article, so I'd like to know if anyone's taking this to AfD. You make a good point about the 80 million, I did not have my numbers brain on when reading and just confirmed it in the source and moved on. I do still think the article should be kept, since he seems obviously notable (ignoring the promotion issue, which imo is not be so overwhelming as to lead to WP:TNT conclusion at AfD). Glad to see someone with more familiarity with India than me taking a careful look at it. Rusalkii (talk) 03:13, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Tayi Arajakate, I've already taken it to AfD after the non-admin manual revert of CSD/NPP tag by Rusalkii. They could have contested the deletion in proper way. But, nevermind... please feel to participate in the AfD and bring an appropriate closure. -Hatchens (talk) 08:30, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I'd assumed it was like a PROD and anyone except the creator could remove the tag if they disagreed. I'll stay out of the AfD given that I messed that one up. Rusalkii (talk) 15:18, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
