As it stands, I am not sure the article meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines. It is rife with statements from the publisher, and there is precious little else to back the book's claim to notability. Furthermore, some claims are provided without source (e.g. is there a reliable third-party source that states that the author is the youngest Indian author to receive a multi-book deal? If not, this is self-promotion). The information provided looks appropriate for an author website, but not for Wikipedia. On top of that, the Career section is in actuality a narrative-form CV. This article would need further sources, or else it should be deleted until more sources become available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.68.136.6 (talk) 11:53, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have to take issue with one question posed from this anonymous user's unsigned comments: "Is there a reliable third-party source that states the author is the youngest Indian author to receive a multi-book deal?" An article from the Oxford Student reported this, and was already cited here. I've seen other Wikipedia entries which have cited articles from other universities' student media outlets, so unless I'm missing something where this student newspaper isn't a reliable third-party source, I'd consider this reliable. I've added a second citation to this article by the statement in question.
As for the other concerns (lack of statements outside the publisher cited, narrative-form CV), the article does needs some updating. I'll see what book reviews have come out recently to support and supplement these statements. KHill-LTown (talk) 22:42, 25 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I had a closer look to the references used for the piece. The "Career" section was touting praise from the BBC, the Guardian and other media outlets, without citing any of these, and using instead a piece from the Oxford Student. I have purged that section from all the self-promotion (statements by the publisher, etc.), and all one is left with is one short story being shortlisted. As it stands, I am really unsure that this article qualifies for inclusion in Wikipedia, or else everyone with a short story shortlisted somewhere should be included? I think that, after adopting a more neutral point of view, whether the article is notable is not yet established. Shurjoroi (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 13:23, 31 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
