Rebuilding project

[edit]

The Powerhouse is undertaking a major rebuilding of the front entrance along with a new outdoor piece by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban. The Graphite Elephant

[edit]

Good story but.... No, it wasn't the only article to survive, and, No, it didn't remain intact. It lost several large chunks in the fall. --Amandajm 02:50, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Strasbourg Clock The link in the Key Attactions section for Notre Dame cathedral goes to the page for Notre Dame in Paris, not the one for Notre Dame in Strasbourg which has the clock. Understandable but should be corrected (sorry I am new to Wikipedia, so don't know how to do it myself) 195.6.25.119 12:17, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

Formal request has been received to merge: History of the Powerhouse Museum into Powerhouse Museum; dated: June 2020. Proposer's Rationale: The History article is relatively short and provides more detail than the current History section on the main Powerhouse Museum article, and a Merge would ensure that the information about the History about the Museum isn't conflicting or self-contradictory. ~Jh15s. Discuss here. GenQuest "Talk to Me" 11:14, 22 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I agree. The two should be merged. Much of what is in the "History" article is already repeated in the main one and the rest could easily be incorporated. The main article has the capacity to become a Featured Article and any additional information from the subordinate "History" article ought to be part of it, in order to be more complete, as well as to reduce the likelihood of its becoming redundant or contradictory. Furthermore, the institution's "history" is an integral part of its changing story and so is not a helpful heading. Whiteghost.ink (talk) 00:49, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I agree they should be merged. The only reason to separate the History from the main article would be if it was so large that it would make the main article excessively long. This possibility seems unlikely; even if it happens, the History section could be spun off as a separate article at that time. Reify-tech (talk) 23:13, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
