Park/Neighborhood
[edit]I was looking for an article on the park itself. The distinction between it and the Powderhorn neighborhood is a bit fuzzy in this article. Morganfitzp (talk) 01:48, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Coming back 15 years later to propose a split into two articles. I grouped information on the park into one section already. Malvoliox (talk) 16:34, 7 May 2024 (UTC)
- I think two articles, one for the park and one for the officially designated neighborhood, makes sense. The park itself is a notable park and could be its own article. I think the current title, "Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis", should stay as is for the neighborhood so it sticks with the titles for other Minneapolis neighborhood articles. Perhaps the park article is Powderhorn Park (urban park)? Wikipedia uses urban park as the main article instead of city park or municipal park.
- The about template at the top note can help differentiate:
- "This article is about the officially designated neighborhood. For the park, see Powdernhorn Park (urban park).
- "This article is about the park. For the officially designated neighborhood, see Powderhorn Park, Minneapolis.
- Consider also Prospect Park, Minneapolis as it is an official neighborhood and a notable park. Minnemeeples (talk) 18:11, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- You may also want to consider including a section for Powderhorn Lake in the new Powderhorn Park (urban park) article. Minnemeeples (talk) 18:15, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- Here is an example of a situation in Los Angeles where a park and neighborhood share the same name:
- Exposition Park (urban park) - the park
- Exposition Park, Los Angeles - the neighborhood

- Thanks! Malvoliox (talk) 19:31, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
- I've started a new article for the park & moved a lot of content into it. Malvoliox (talk) 23:03, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
