This edit completely replaced the content of the article with text that had no style or layout editing whatsoever, leaving one giant and nearly unreadable paragraph. Beyond that, it shows signs of having been cribbed, and maybe in places copied verbatim, from the copyrighted sources it lists (compare this excerpt for example). I'm not saying the current article is all that much better — its copyedit and reference tags are well-deserved — but the alternative was, in my opinion, a complete mess.
