Talk:Post-Ebola virus syndrome/Archive 1
Improvements
[edit]I believe our next step should be adding a section for research. Why these symptoms occur seems to be a mystery for now, I think focusing on research could be helpful. I will start to look for useful sources, also I'm relatively new, so don't have much experience building new articles. But I would like to help anyway I can, just point me in the right direction. :) Darwinian Ape talk 03:07, 8 July 2015 (UTC)
- a research section would be a good idea,--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 09:27, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Darwinian Ape talk great pic but we do need "not to have copyright issues" let me see if I can find another similar image,,,--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:16, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Okay thanks, I'm also looking for a free image then. Darwinian Ape talk 21:31, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Darwinian Ape talk[1] this one comes from Flickr...Wikipedia:Upload/Flickr try the image on the first link its via Flickr and the guidelines don't seem too tough --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 21:44, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Is that eye from an Ebola survivor? it seems like a generic eye image. We could though use it with a different caption. Like they did in that article. Darwinian Ape talk 22:01, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Done Question: yes it's an eye of an Ebola survivor? Or yes to using with a different caption? Darwinian Ape talk 22:25, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- in the actual article they show it as an actual victim (we do have the article link, in case any questions)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 22:27, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- Darwinian Ape talk BTW this is the first journal I see that actually says post ebola syndrome (though its paywalled)[2]--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 22:30, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- It looks like a great source and the article is lacking academic sources, paywall is a bummer though. I'll see if I can find a way to access to the full article. Darwinian Ape talk 22:40, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
- ill give it a try as well, thanks--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 22:52, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

- I think that that photo is just a generic photo of an eye. Here are some from the physician who had the eye-color change. [3] Gandydancer (talk) 01:37, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Ozzie10aaaa – you know you can just mail me if you need to get hold of a paywalled article. Same goes for you Darwinian Ape. -- CFCF 🍌 (email) 11:40, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- thank you CFCF,..it seems the scientific community is beginning to take this topic seriously with this article ,Diagnostic criteria and surrogate markers for the early diagnosis of PEVDS, and implementation of specialized health services to treat and follow-up survivors are also needed --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 11:47, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
Acceptable sources
[edit]As per WP:MEDRS, there is currently only one acceptable source for this article "Post-Ebolavirus disease syndrome: What do we know?"" – PMID 26293407 , which was released this month. Please do not use popular press sources and primary medical sources. The Spanish source PMID25760722 is potentially acceptable if you can translate and add the cited source to for example a talk sub-page. -- CFCF 🍌 (email) 11:28, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- your correct --Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 11:37, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
ebola/west Africa survivors
[edit]as the outbreak seems to go on in the form of flare ups I will try to expand (Symptoms / Cause/ Diagnose / Management) this article which becomes more important w/ every survivor of the virus, please add any references below that might help, thank you--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 14:44, 28 March 2016 (UTC)
chronic infection
[edit]might use [5] for a future chronic/persistent infection sub-section--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 23:54, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
A few days please...
[edit]Nobody has worked on this article for months...I'd like a few days to work on it. My time is very limited. Thanks. Gandydancer (talk) 13:01, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- looks great!(needs refs, but that's a part of process...very happy to see an experienced editor)--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 13:30, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks Oz - I did add a ref. And thanks to you for opening this article and all the refs that you have provided. I am slowly working my way through reading them and the WHO's info. I have been thinking about a "Did you know" for this because it seems to me that the world, other than the countries that experienced the outbreak, are completely unaware that this tragedy is far from over. What do you think? Gandydancer (talk) 16:21, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
- Wikipedia:Did_you_know very good idea--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 22:21, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

Why remove my talk page edit as well?
[edit]Why has my post been archived? I sometimes have connection problems that can last hours or days. As I worked on this article I lost my connection unexpectedly and a line of copy edit vio was in the article. But my entire work was removed. That was the last straw for me and I no longer work on medical articles. Gandydancer (talk) 01:13, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
- Help:Archiving_a_talk_pagesays older than 90 days, please un-archive...(per the history I haven't reverted any edits[6])--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 01:31, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
- You are not to be blamed Ozzie. As to what happened, I seldom run into just pure meanness, but it does happen every now and then...as it did then. When even my talk page edits disappeared I was angry and responded in an angry manner. But my anger is not at you. Gandydancer (talk) 04:18, 18 May 2017 (UTC)
great edits
[edit]those are great edits Gandy and the photo is very good(I cleared the references w/ {{clear})--Ozzie10aaaa (talk) 17:16, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
- Wow, that was fast! I had just come to leave a note about it. Thanks so much for your excellent research. Best, Gandy Gandydancer (talk) 17:20, 5 October 2017 (UTC)
